I decided to have my second post tie into my first post a little bit.  The Polynesian Cultural Center is minutes away from the Turtle Bay Resort and is one of Hawaii’s most popular attractions.  If you are a lover of history, the island life or just unique experiences and other cultures, this is a destination you should not miss.  The center is clean, professional and the atmosphere reminds me of a Disney park.

Polynesian Cultural Center

ThePolynesian Cultural Center spans 42-acres and is a representation of eight islandcultures covering a massive span of the South Pacific. The center has several island villages that give visitors a first-hand look at these different and diverse cultures. Native guides will help you experience their games, language, crafts, music and history. The center also offers one of the most authentic Hawaiian Luau experience’s in the world.

The name Polynesia means “many islands”. Polynesia covers a large triangular geographical zone of the Pacific Ocean. While there are a total of 30 different Polynesian groups in this zone, the Cultural Center focuses on eight of the more prominent cultures with six ‘Villages’. The Villages available for exploration are: Aotearoa (New Zealand) Village, Hawaiian Village, Tahitian Village, Fijian Village, Aotearoa (New Zealand) Village, Samoan Village and Tongan Village.

The center offers several different dining and meal service options. Ranging from fine dining, luaus, a dinner buffet, snack bars and concession stands. They also list many vegetarian dining options offered. Please click here to review the Polynesian Cultural Centers diverse dining options.

The Polynesian Cultural Center offers two very distinct, one of a kind shows. Rainbows of Paradise is Hawaii’s only waterborn show. While absolutely breathtaking, The Ha Breath of Life show is more of a traditional Hawaiian show with fire dancers, mock battles and hula. Both shows offered are awe inspiring and are worth the visit alone.

Several of the villages offer many different adventerous, hands-on activities. Some of which include: Spear Throwing, Fire Walking, Tiki Carving, Fire Pit Cooking, Tree Climbing, Fire Knife Dancing, Tattoos, Coconut Husking and much more.
